Derek Bell (Erard Grecian Harp) and Joanna Leach (Stodart Square Piano, 1823) play two Duo Concertant by Dussek. The CD also features Joanna Leach playing Dussek's Sonata in F# minor, op.61on a Clementi Square Piano of 1832.
J. L. Dussek (1760-1812) had a brilliant career as a pianist and composer. His relationships with two harpists (one of whom he married) led to his composing several works for the harp, distinguishing him from most composers of the period.
the timbres of the Grecian harp and square piano interweave and complement each other beautifully. The playing is excellent throughout - Early Music Review
