The eccentric GWL Marshall-Hall was one of Australia's first composers of substance, but although his E-flat Symphony was played under Henry Wood and Nikisch it has remained unplayed since 1907. With influences of Brahms and Wagner it is a worthy piece. Also includes the Adagio from the C minor Symphony.
