Andreas Boyde plays Schumann: Variations on a theme by Clara Wieck, op.5, Variations on a theme by Beethoven, Variations on a theme by Schubert *, and Variations on an original theme. He also plays Brahms: Variations on a theme by Schumann, op.23 (transcribed for solo piano by Theodor Kirchner).

* The Schubert variations were never completed by Schumann, despite several attempts, and the piece has bee reconstructed from the manuscripts and completed by Andreas Boyde; this is its first ever recording.
