Trio Fibonacci have won international recognition for their interpretation of works by many contemporary composers, and have commisioned works by Enno Poppe, Denys Bouliane and other Canadian and Japanese composers. This release features three prominent British composers at different stages in their careers; Gerald Barry's In The Asylum, James Clarke's Piano Trio, which makes use of artificial harmonics and unusal piano effects, and the title work by Michael Finnissy, which the composer has described as "an arrangement, or quite possible derangement" of Brahm's German folksong.
