A lively and jazz-inspired work for the intermediate quartet, also playable by larger forces. Primarily pizzicato, there are optional spaces for improvisation and this is a good opportunity to experiment with different pizzicato styles. It was composed in 1999 for the ISB Young Bassists Project and stays primarily in bass clef, apart from one small foray into low thumb position for bass 1. A great tribute to one of America's legendary jazz bassists.
