The composer writes:"On the whole, I think my music is pretty straightforward. I try to make my intentions clear, hide as little as possible and use a certain amount of unifying rigour. Tonal centres and at least one pulse can usually be found. I prefer not to mix timbres too much and structurally I have a penchant for straight edges. The music on this CD is no exception. There are three fairly loud and dense pieces and two which are sustained, slow and bare."
