This collection of piano music by John R. Williamson includes works all written since 1990: Piano Sonatina No.2 in C and the Second Piano Sonata in F sharp, 12 New Piano Preludes and 12 Palindromic Preludes from 1996 which follow a chromatic key centre, rising from C to B. The performer, Murray McLachlan has received outstanding critical acclaim for his sensitive interpretations and superb technical ability. He has a prolific discography of over thirty commercial recordings and is Head of Keyboard at Chetham's School, Manchester. The recording was made on April 9th and 10th, 2001 in the Whiteley Hall at Chetham's School of Music.
