"Having discovered ragtime as a teenager I have always loved the style and composed a number of 'pastiche' ragtime pieces throughout my life. As a student I conducted a school clarinet ensemble for which this piece was written to satisfy the needs of an ensemble which contained beginners through to pupils of grade 5/6 standard."        Tony Radford.

As Head of Music at a large Comprehensive school, Tony devoted much of his time to arranging and composing for student groups: works for flute, clarinet and saxophone ensembles as well as jazz pieces - having, thoughout his career, also been a performing jazz musician and educator.
