Carmen Intermezzo for 8 Double Basses

German bassist-composer Stefan Schafer has beautifully transcribed the intermezzo from Bizet's timeless opera, Carmen. The Spanish mood and idiom work well for double bass octet and its repetitive castanet-like rhythm pervades the whole work.
