Flutes Play Fledermaus

"Die Fledermaus is probably Johann Strauss 11's most famous operetta. It has many unforgettable melodies, and has enchanted audiences for more than a century. Sylvia Fairley has taken a few of these melodies and arranged them into a work for four flutes and piano.....The opening finds all four flutes in rhythmic unison. Following this, some interesting writing between the parts can be heard, when all four flutes are given equally important roles. Dynamics, tempo changes, articulation and so on are all clearly marked.

There are a number of melodies in this fun work which can be played quite easily by players of grade 4 - 5 standard, although there are a number of key changes to keep everyone on their toes!
