"The original idea for these pieces stemmed from a desire to introduce my pupils to the pleasures and benefits of ensemble playing at an early stage in their instrumental learning and to introduce them to some 'non-classical' musical styles.

They are designed to be playable by pupils from approximatley grade 1 to grade 3 standard, but do contain a number of 'jazzy' rhythmic figures which, at first sight, might appear challenging. However, they should be playable with a little repetition practice and clapping of rhythms first.

Flute 3 is optional, though a better sound would be acheived with the full ensemble."     Tonly Radford.
