Shallow Sea with Dancing

This is a concert duo for oboe and violin. Shallow Sea with Dancing is a fantasy piece, inspired by the beautiful landscape, or seascape, as well as the characteristic sounds, of Germany's North Friesian Islands. The cries of the wheeling birds, and the white shine of the sun on the mudflats, are reflected in the music.

The oboe and the violin are both agile instruments. Both instrumental lines are complex and agile, and answer one another throughout. The piece has been very well received in performance.
