It was composed in 2004 for Catherine Lord (Vln) and David Heyes (Db), was performed extensively in 2004/5, and offers musical and technical challenges for both players. A lyrical and beautiful slow movement is framed by two jazzy faster movements and the rhythmic propulsion and energy makes this a winner with audiences.
