CD of violin concertos by Douglas Coates, performed by Colin Sauer with the BBC Northern Orchestra conducted by Sir Charles Groves, and E J Moeran, performed by Campoli with the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Adrian Boult.

A major find, the Coates concerto was thought completely lost as BBC tapes and the score had been destroyed. Incredibly the composer had made an off-air copy of the 1951 broadcast which survived in the hands of a private collector. The Moeran concerto was broadcast in 1954: made from a private tape, the performance makes this re-issue worthwhile.
