This is a soundtrack download. 'Completus' is a setting of texts taken from or associated with the service of Compline, the last of the eight services comprising the Divine Office. It contains some of its most beautiful prayers.
Setting 3: 'Keep me as the apple of an eye' with 'Lighten our darkness' is a dramatic and powerful arrangement comprising two of the Compline prayers, using Double SATB Choir and trombone quartet (ATTB) performed here by Ars Brunensis chamber choir from Brno in the Czech Republic, conducted by Dan Kalousek.
This movement opened the 2013 Stafford Music Festival with a magnificent performance by Stafford Choral Society under their conductor Leslie Smith. On this occasion the choir totalled ninety - but the trombone quartet held their own!
