'Completus' is a setting of texts taken from or associated with the service of Compline, the last of the eight services comprising the Divine Office. It contains some of its most beautiful prayers.
Setting 6: O Radiant Light (O Splendor Gloriae) uses for its text an English translation of the Latin used by John Taverner for his 'Jesus Antiphon' setting. His opening four-bar phrase also begins this new technically challenging but stunning eight part setting performed magnificently here by Ars Brunensis chamber choir from Brno in the Czech Republic, under their conductor Dan Kalousek.
