Premiered in 2008, Robert Hugill's settings of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis combine elements from two traditions. His settings of the English texts from the Book of Common Prayer are for choir and organ, intended for use during the Anglican service of Evensong, but the music includes hints of plainchant and references to the Ave Maria traditionally sung on the Roman Catholic Church.
These performances were recorded live at the work's premiere in on 26 January 2008 at St Peter's Church, Eaton Square with Paul Brough conducting the eight:fifteen vocal ensemble and Paul Ayres(organ)
