The British Isles have a tradition of choral music which is as ancient, deep and all-encompassing as any across the globe. John Hearne is a composer born in Wales but living in Scotland, himself a singer and choral conductor. His music has folk influences from the Scottish Islands and from further field such as Iceland. “There’s a Song in the Air” won the Caledonian Hilton Audience Prize.
