Alistair Dixon and Chapelle du Roi premiere Robert Hugill's The Advent Prose as part of their concert at St John's Smith Square on Saturday 6 December 2014. Written specially for Chapelle du Roi, The Advent Prose is a setting of the Latin sequence starting 'Rorate coeli' which is performed during the season of Advent. Chapelle du Roi's performance will be part of the New Lamps for Old programme in which contemporary settings are performed with settings of the same text by Renaissance composers. Robert Hugill's The Advent Prose will be performed alongside the Latin plainchant setting. Robert Hugill's music is inspired by his own work as a singer performing plainchant and renaissance polyphony as part of regular Sunday Latin mass in Chelsea, and The Advent Prose uses his own plainchant like passages in addition to more complex textures.

Faith Hope and Charity for Cello and Choir will be premiered by cellist Corinne Morris with London Concord Singers, conductor Malcolm Cottle as part of their Choir and Cello concert at the Church of St. Botolph without Bishopsgate, Bishopsgate, London at 8pm on Thursday 18 December 2014.
The original version of Robert Hugill's Faith Hope and Charity was written for a friend's wedding in the early ’90s as solo motet for soprano and organ setting the familiar English text from I Corinthians 13 (Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity). The setting is notable for the long lyrical cantilena on the word charity, taking advantage of the original soprano's lovely high B natural. A transcription of the work, for solo violin and string orchestra was recorded as part of Testament of Dr Cranmer disc issued by Divine Art. Cellist Corinne Morris heard this and was inspired to suggest that Robert might re-work the piece for cello and choir.
