Composed in 2002, this impressive two movement suite is full of Brazilian characted, influence and atmosphere. Aria is rhapsodic and lyrical, followed by a more rhythmic and urgent Choros Brasileros, utilising the entire range of the double bass. Available for both solo and orchestral tunings, this combines music and technical challenges in equal measure and is a good addition to the solo register. Advanced but accessible and playable.
Tony Osborne has composed music for every level of bassist and has the ability to create inventive, evocative and accessible music which is enjoyed by musicians and audiences alike.
The edition includes piano accompaniments for both solo and orchestral tunings.
