Bass-Cleft was composed in 2002 and was premiered at the Rotterdam Conservatoire. It is an extended one-movement work with rhythmic momentum and drive, allied to musical and technical challenges, and is full of contrasts and moods. Pizzicato and arco are used to produce dramatic features and textures and there are musical and technical challenges for the adventurous duo.
