This popular comprehensive guide is now updated in text, style and presentation.
It includes a new exercise for strengthening the fourth finger and also a study for sautillé. A true bouncing sautillé can be developed practising the well-proven exercises recommended.
The book is a collection of exercises and advice which the author has evolved for pupils in lessons and which have proved their practical value over the years.
There are exercises to develop specific aspects of technique and some short, original pieces in which to use these skills. There are also sections on the notation of harmonics, principles of fingering and how to maintain one's technique.
The book sets out to help a wide range of students and teachers, but is not intended for actual beginners. The contents progress gradually towards acquiring various virtuoso techniques.
The Daily Technical Keep-in-Trim is highly commended by distinguished hand therapist Joan Warrington.
The CD of the ten original duets is inside back cover as before.
