A double set of exciting pieces on two old stories:first the myth of Icarus, learning to fly to escape the Cretan Labyrinth-
And second, Theseus entering the Labyrinth, getting lost in the maze; meeting the terrifying monster the Minotaur; finding his way out by rewinding a thread; and finally triumphing on his sea voyage home, but leaving Ariadne behind, weeping. These simple pieces give encouragement to young players, to tackle interesting pieces that have a story to tell - and at the same time, ask for expression and dynamic contrast.
