The 11 technically demanding pieces in this book were commissioned to fill a gap at the top end of the lever harp repertoire for the then Trinity College London - now TrinityGuildhall - international lever harp exam syllabus.
In order to be on an equal footing, not just with the pedal harp, but other instruments, music was needed which explored all aspects of technique as well as being but musically fulfilling. Such pieces (which also satisfied the exam criteria) were simply not available.
These pieces fill that gap and in so doing provide a unique service to the lever harp community, exploring and pushing techniques (such as the requirement for rapid lever changes mid-piece) to limits that many advanced players will not have previously experienced.
At the same time, all of the composers are gifted composers but in a wide variety of styles. There should therefore be something for everyone and most players will appreciate many of the pieces contained within.
If you want to take your already advanced lever harp skills to the next level, you need this book!
