This is the fourth in the series Mavrud, which like the others utilizes the note series of the Hindustani (North Indian) Rag Dipak, whose quality is fire. Virtually all relationship to the Rag form, however, has in this Mavrud disappeared. Slow meditative or partially improvised sections alternate with more fiery engagements between the duoists. An interestingly different excursion for both instrumentalists. Percussion list: 2 stones, octave of crotales, suspended cymbal, 2 cowbells, 2 woodblocks, pair bongos, fairly deep tone drum.
