Sheet music for piano solo by Enid Luff. The composer writes - This is a set of five very brief pieces of moderate difficulty, each being a concentrated expression of a different mood. They were written to help introduce players - young or old - to more contemporary textures. The counterpoint in each case is balanced by a gentle alternation of 3:2 cross-rhythms.
The title of each piece describes its character: 1. Serious, 2. Quiet, 3. Fierce, 4. Song and 5. One More. The textures are uncomplicated, uncluttered and expressive, and the level of difficulty is around Grade 6. The whole set takes just over five minutes to play, and would make an effective and colourful short item in a concert programme.
