Moto Perpetuo, for string orchestra including two cello parts, is suitable for players of grade 6 standard (or good grade 5) and above. It is designed to be technically easier than it sounds; the patterns in the (shared) continuous semiquaver movement are designed to lie well on the instruments and care has been taken to make the bowings convenient and effective. The tempo marking is 'With energy; quick but not frantic'.
The double bass part, although desirable from the point of view of sonority, may be omitted without damage to the basic musical texture.
Although designed in the first place for string orchestra, this piece will also work well as chamber music - one player to a part, with or without double bass.
Duration: about 1¾ minutes.
The pack contains a score, plus parts for violin 1, violin 2, viola, cello 1, cello 2 and double bass in the following quantities: 5/5/4/3/3/2. As with all Stringbin items, score and parts are handsomely printed on high-quality 100gsm paper. The material is contained in a sturdy, transparent plastic wallet.
