French bassist-composer Thierry Barbe has written a number of works for double bass, each with it's own strong character and message to convey.
There are echoes of Ravel and Debussy in this beautifully lyrical work which offers musical and technical challenges in equal measure. It uses the entire range of the solo double bass and is partnered by a gently moving accompaniment which creates a beatiful wash of sound over which the double bass weaves its evocative and atmospheric solo line.
The edition includes accompaniments for both solo and orchestral tunings.
