Promenade (Walking the Dog)

by George Gershwin

From the film 'Shall We Dance' - 1937, starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.

This music accompanies Fred & Ginger as they walk their dog around the deck of an ocean liner somewhere in Mid-Atlantic. Fred`s character has an eye for Ginger`s, and he `borrows` a different dog for each morning`s walk, hoping to be able to catch her eye. Spotting the different dogs, our leading lady soon realises what   intentions our leading man is preparing .

For clarinet and small orchestra on the soundtrack, this arrangement (with optional added interest) is for clarinet and piano.
