A short (3'30") scherzando movement for wind quintet, perfect to round off a concert - challenging just to follow, never mind perform, with its sparking shifting 5/8, 5/4 feel.
The Scherzo's first peformance was at Birmingham Conservatoire in 2000 at a Commuters' Concert. The splendid recording available here is part of a concert on November 19th 2006, also at Birmingham Conservatoire, by the brilliant Windworks wind ensemble (just the opening and closing sections).
