These Six Voluntaries are a typical example of organ music for manuals only by an 18th. century English composer. They are delightful and varied pieces which are very suitable for church or recital use. Each Voluntary consists mainly of a slow introductory section for Diapasons followed by faster, more lively movements for a variety of registrations such as Cornet, Trumpet, 4'Flute, Full Organ etc. Little is known of George Green other than the fact that he appears to have been an organist in London during the latter part of the 18th. century.
