Geoffrey Self (1930-2008) was Music Advisor for Somerset until 1964, when he moved to Cornwall to become Head of Music at Camborne Technical College. He conducted the Cornwall Symphony Orchestra, and was awarded the Gorsedd Shield for services to music in Cornwall in 1981. He has written 6 books, including 'The Music of E.J.Moeran', as well as music for piano, organ, orchestra, choirs, songs and chamber music, some of which is published by Novello, & Animus.
