A setting of Cantos Nuevos from Libro de Poemas (1921) by Federico Garcia Lorca for solo countertenor and body percussion.
The main impetus behind Nicholas Clapton's initiative in commisioning this piece was the centenary of the birth of Federice Garcia Lorca, the spanish poet and playwright.
Lorca was a keen musician, (he is the pianist on a 1931 recording of Sapnish folk songs) and had a passion for flamenco.
