A beautiful and poignant lament which was probably originally for cello. It is ideally suited to the soulful timbre of the double bass, and this edition returns to the cello version with its more extended and dramatic introduction. The long flowing phrases allow the bassist to demonstrate the lyrical possibilities of the double bass and this is playable by the intermediate player.
Piano accompaniments for solo and orchestral tuning included.
