A great addition to the 'virtuoso' repertoire for the good intermediate player, and written almost exclusively in bass clef. This enterprising and innovative theme and variation work makes effective use of the orchestral register and there are countless opportunities to explore both technical and musical issues. Most of the technical work is given to the bassist with a simple but strongly supportive piano accompaniment.
Miloslav Gajdos has written a work which is enjoyable to study and perform, but is also great for an audience. A piece to show-off your technique, primarily in the orchestral register.
