His aim was to create an ensemble that would specialise in Argentinian music and the music of Astor Piazzolla in particular.
The success of El Ultimo Tango is due in no short measure to Eduardo's co-players, Buenos Aires born Nicholas Bricht (flute), Mark O'Brien (saxophones), Mark Goodchild (doublebass and the player also responsible for the musical arrangements), and Fred lezama Thomas (piano).
