The purpose of this set of pieces is to present challenging, but not over-extended, works for the serious student or professional using structured quarter-tone and (in two pieces) eighth-tone techniques.
These two pieces - Waltzer and Hurdles - were originally re-worked from the recorder originals for a flute workshop event. They have now been revised again for piccolo, 6 concert flutes, alto and bass flute.
Two linked pieces for large clarinet choir. Needs E flat, at least six B flats, alto, bass and contrabass (with an alternative part for contra-alto). The opening, with the feel of a cortège, leads to a rather wild dance. Difficult.
Two pieces, entitled "March Past" and "Fiesta", for a large Flute Choir - Piccolo, 6 Concert Flutes, Alto and Bass Flutes. Total length about five minutes. Some parts are quite difficult; others more straightforward.

Concertino is written for cello solo, requiring a professional player, and 6 instruments which can be played by amateurs. It is a miniature concerto in one movement and was originally written for a CoMA call for scores.
Transmutations is for flute, clarinet, saxophone and piano. The title suggests change, or transmutating, such as the changes that occur in nature, for example, one chemical element to another, etc. The changes in this piece are purely musical.
Plea for Concordance is for two cellos and piano. It was inspired by the current events in Northern African and Middle Eastern countries which, for various political reasons, are experiencing disunity and unrest. It includes a 'reconciliation theme' that is presented in different forms in each of the three movements.
