The first performance of these songs was given by Kevin Starns (tenor) and Michael James (piano) as part of the Brighton Fringe Festival in 1998. The first performance in the USA was given by George Van Deventer and Arlene Van Deventer in Bristol, Maine in 2003. The settings have also been performed at St Botolph's Parish Church, Helpston, Peterborough, Northamptonshire in July 2004 as part of The John Clare Society's annual festival.
A CD of the settings, together with readings of some of John Clare's poems has been made in conjunction with The John Clare Society by Claudio Records CS0068-2
